To meet the customer’s high expectations, E-Van Guru went above and beyond, upgrading the base vehicle with a host of premium features. Godalming Council add a bespoke built Electric Tipper to the Fleet
When Godalming Council approached us, referred by another council, with a unique request for an electric tipper vehicle tailored to their specific needs, the E-Van Guru team was excited to take on the challenge.
With our proven expertise in delivering custom electric vehicle solutions, we were able to guide Godalming Council through a smooth and efficient process from the initial order to the final delivery. The council was pleasantly surprised by the speed and ease with which their requirements were met, demonstrating our commitment to exceptional customer service and high-quality workmanship.
Godalming Council had precise specifications for their electric tipper vehicle, which included fully removable greedy sides for versatile usage, a toolbox complete with an internal shelf and bulkhead for organized storage, a towbar, and 13-pin electrics for towing a wood chipper. Additionally, the vehicle needed an open-back design, strobes on both the front and rear for enhanced safety, a beacon mounted on the roof for visibility, and, of course, livery that aligns with the council’s branding.
To bring this project to life, E-Van Guru collaborated with several trusted partners. We teamed up with ALD to handle the financing aspect, ensuring a seamless and affordable solution for Godalming Council. CPD Bodies took charge of converting the vehicle into a robust toolbox tipper, perfectly aligned with the council's operational needs. Vantage Vehicle Conversions was responsible for integrating the towbar, strobes, and beacons, ensuring the vehicle was equipped with all the necessary features for the council's daily tasks. Throughout the entire process, E-Van Guru managed every detail, from taking the order to delivering the fully equipped vehicle, including providing training to the council team to ensure they were fully prepared to operate their new electric tipper.

Dan brings with him a wealth of experience from his diverse professional background. Beginning his career as a Customer Excellence Manager in the retail sector, specifically in gambling from 2012 to 2019, Dan honed his skills in delivering superior customer service and operational efficiency. His transition into logistics in 2019 saw him excel at West Way Nissan.

Moreover, as the company has seen significant growth, Dan’s role will expand to include the responsibility for bookkeeping. Electric Adventures for Charity: E-Van Guru Takes on European Challenge

Our quartet, featuring E-Van Guru’s own Brian Bachelor, alongside Gilly Bachelor, Stephanie Minton the Holiday Admin Whizz, and Phil Bachelor, is driving a Mercedes eVito Tourer, generously provided by Midlands Truck and Van. We extend our deepest thanks to Alex Hillman, the Van Sales Director, for his pivotal role in equipping us with this state-of-the-art electric van, and our friend James Brinkler for providing design support, creating our joint challenge logo!
The purpose of our voyage is twofold: to advocate for green transportation and to support the vital work of Breast Cancer Now. This cause holds a special significance for our team, particularly for Stephanie, who is honouring the memory of her sister Jennifer Dawson, who lost her battle with breast cancer last year at just 32 years of age, 12 years after losing her mother to the same disease.
Our route spans the scenic vistas of France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Alongside enjoying Europe’s stunning landscapes and engaging in the thrill of electric driving, we will participate in quirky challenges set by the event’s organisers to win additional donations for our chosen charity.
E-Van Guru is fully funding the journey’s expenses, including the entry fees, accommodations, charging costs, insurance, and meals, ensuring that all contributions go directly to Breast Cancer Now. These funds will help enhance breast cancer screenings, increase the availability of clinical nurse specialists, and assist survivors returning to work.

Mercedes e Vito Tourer WAV for Annandale Community Transport
As March 2024 draws to a close, EV sales continue to surge for E-Van Guru (EVG), largely driven by improved stock availability and more competitive pricing from various vehicle manufacturers. In the last quarter alone, EVG has successfully delivered all derivatives of electric vehicles, ranging from tippers, drop sides, lutons, small, medium, large panel vans, and specialist vehicles. Among these deliveries is the Mercedes e Vito Tourer 100kwh wheelchair access vehicle (WAV), which was specially built for Annandale Community Transport up in Lockerbie, Scotland.
The project came about after a demo event in July 2023, where EVG was asked to provide a quote for an electric WAV that can comfortably seat five passengers, including a driver, and accommodate a single wheelchair with sufficient range to collect residents from nearby villages. EVG recommended the market-leading Mercedes e Vito Tourer with its 100kw battery and a range of over 200 miles. With the help of their partners at Midlands Truck & Van Ltd in Birmingham, EVG was able to secure a new factory unit to Annandale’s specification within two months of the order.
Using the AMF Bruns WAV system, the vehicle went through conversion, including the installation of a “future-safe” system that provides added protection to the wheelchair occupant. In early March 2024, the EVG team delivered the converted vehicle to Annandale. As is often the case with EVG’s sales, customer referrals played a significant role in securing new EV-based WAV orders, with many of them already in conversion.
Fully Electric Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles proving very popular in Scotland
E-Van Guru have been working with various Scottish Community Transport organisations to electrify their wheelchair access vehicle fleets. Electric wheelchair access vehicles offer a range of benefits, primarily aimed at enhancing mobility and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. One key advantage is the increased independence they provide to wheelchair users, allowing them to travel more freely and participate in various activities. These vehicles are environmentally friendly, contributing to reduced air pollution and a smaller carbon footprint compared to traditional fossil fuelled vehicles. The lower operational costs, including reduced fuel expenses and maintenance requirements, make electric wheelchair access vehicles a more cost-effective long-term solution. Moreover, these vehicles feature user-friendly designs, with easy-use ramps, FutureSafe systems, electric winches, the option for tilt and fold seats for additional seating and spacious interiors, ensuring comfort and ease of use for wheelchair users. Currently we are able to offer electric wheelchair accessible vehicles on;
Citroen e Berlingo XL - This is the entry level eWAV we offer. with it being the smallest sized vehicle it is great for use around busy towns and cities. The Citroen has a 50kWh battery which gives around 145 mile true range, can carry 5 people (including the driver) and a wheelchair passenger.
Vauxhall e Vivaro M or L - This is a mid sized/spec level vehicle. It offers more space than the Berlingo and the option of additional seating should it be required. This vehicle has the same 50kWh battery as the Berlingo, this gives a true range of around 125 miles, can carry 6 people (including driver) and a wheelchair passenger, or 8 people (including driver) without a wheelchair passenger with the option of fold and tilt seats in the rear.
Mercedes e Vito Tourer L2 - The Mercedes is the top level offering on the eWAVs, as with any Mercedes you get the quality and performance you would expect. With a 100kWh battery it is the largest offering of all the eWAVs, this will give a true range of around 225 miles, as with the Vauxhall e Vivaro the Mercedes can carry 6 people (including driver) and a wheelchair passenger, or 8 people (including driver) without a wheelchair passenger with the option of fold and tilt seats in the rear (L3 version will carry a maximum of 7 people without a wheelchair).

E-Van Guru supplies Camborne Council with their first electric commercial vehicle
Having read about E-Van Guru’s success in delivering electric vehicles to a number of Councils throughout the UK, Camborne Council approached Phil in the EVG team with a requirement for an electric tipper. As their first electric commercial vehicle to join the Camborne fleet they were looking for guidance as to the best product to deliver their requirements, based on this we recommended the Maxus e Deliver 3 50.2kwh chassis, fitted with cage sided tipper body and rear twin doors, beacons, front strobes, reverse sensors and chapter 8’s.
There was also a requirement to install charging infrastructure at their workshops, for which we called upon our partners at Aurora who managed to carry out a full survey and submit a proposal within a week of initial request. Following which a twin 22kwh charger was fitted along tethered cables and an App based security system.
An additional option we were able to offer was a tailored Public Sector finance solution that allowed for the charging infrastructure to be funded as part of the vehicle purchase.

Hinckley and Bosworth Council take delivery on 2 electric tipper vans
2023 has been a busy year for E-Van-Guru supplying a large number of Public Sector Authorities with a range of LCV’s both EV and ICE products.
As part of this success, we have recently handed over 2 x Maxus e Deliver 3 LWB 50.2kwh chassis fitted with customised cage tippers to Hinckley and Bosworth Council.
Working with our partners Link Group Frameworks, ALD Finance, Brindley Fleet and Vantage Vehicle Conversions we were able to progress the vehicles from order to delivery within 12 weeks, including tipper conversion and fitting accessories.
When looking to have the vehicles fitted out Hinckley and Bosworth where keen to ensure operator safety and compliance, with onboard weighing, personal cleaning systems, high visibility amber lighting and tool storage facilities.
Both units will be operated by the Street Cleaning teams within the Council’s Town Centres and are replacing their older diesel based 3.5t tippers and we would just like to thank these teams for their input into finalising the specification of each vehicle, its always great to see this level of enthusiasm when making the switch to an electric product.
This is another step on the road for Hinkley and Bosworth Council to their sustainability targets and improving the air quality for their residents.
